ROCKY MOUNTAIN INSPIRED
PROJECT BACKGROUND
One of our designers favorite projects to date, this unique modern home with a completely stone face features a Western styled design, inspired by the Rocky Mountains. The design features simple evergreen plantings, using a color palate of dark greens, purples, and blues. The oranges and reds to the left and right of the home offer a splash of color in the fall, along with the annual planter bed in front of the address sign.
Starting from left to right, the front of the house includes a retaining wall made of large outcropping blocks, surrounding the centerpiece of the bed - a gorgeous Crimson Sunset Maple tree. Upright yews line all front faces of the house for year round evergreen foundation plantings. The tall corners of the garage are accented by Blue Point Junipers, continuing the evergreen theme across the right side of the house. A mix of large stones, as well as a hybrid center bed including both mulch and egg rock break up the large space around the Bloodgood Japanese Maple. To increase the curb appeal even more, we added a unique front bed using the same wall outcroppings and added the "9004" address text, illuminated by a flood light. Purple Fountain Grasses and Blue Chip Junipers line the back side of the address stone, in color harmony with the rest of the landscape.
